
The Packers had interest in signing tight end Kris Wilson however he agreed to a three year deal to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles. Wilson is not a stranger to Philadelphia as he was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, went to J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster Pennsylvania, and played football in college at Pitt.
Wilson after the signing said "I grew up an Eagles fan." he also added "I definitely wanted to go somewhere where we're going to win games,""Everybody knows that in this business, winning is everything. Also, being in a good offense, a balanced attack that can kill you with the run and kill you with the pass. Being close to home, I'm a Pennsylvania boy. I grew up in the area. I still live in the area, although I live in New Jersey now.
Wilson is 26 years old and has played in the NFL since 2004 for the Kansas City Chiefs where he was blocked by All-Pro starting tight end Tony Gonzalez. In his 4 years in the NFL he has caught 42 passes and scored 4 touchdowns. Wilson made his biggest contribution to the Chiefs at fullback where he started 22 games for the Chiefs due to injuries. There is talk that Wilson will continue to play at halfback for the Eagles.
Wilson had interest from other teams including the Green Bay Packers, he becomes the fith free agency signing of 2008 for the Eagles.
