One chapter in the Brett Farve retirement / unretired saga has apparently closed. The team has apparently agreed to take Farve back and have him compete for the starting job with Aaron Rodgers. Farve will begin practice and competing immediatley after passing his individual physicals, he will report on Monday to training camp. Head coach Mike McCarthy already has had a plan in place for this situation and will be talking to the quarterbacks and the rest of the team about the situation.
Packers general manager Ted Thompson said it has been hard for the team to change the course of action it took after Farve had apparently retired. While this chapter in the Farve saga is complete he now must compete for the starting job with Rodgers under intense scrutiny, however it seems unlikely if Brett is given a fair shot that he would not win the job with ease.
Through this whole situation credit has to be given to Aaron Rodgers and how he has handled the situation. Having to compete with Brett Farve will hopefully help him further develop as a NFL ready quarterback for the future.
