Aaron Rodgers the Packers QB after waiting for Brett Favre to move on has now secured a contract through the year 2014 to line up under center for the Packers. Rodgers had to wait a long time to be picked on draft night, and quite a while for a first round pick to start but he did not wait long to get an extension. The contract is believed to be six-year, $65 million deal $20 million guaranteed. Aaron Rodgers stats seven games in to his first year as a starter are 145 of 221 passes (65.6 percent) for 1,668 yards with 12 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 98.8 passer rating. Packers general manager Ted Thompson said that while Rodgers early season play is encouraging the contract is more about what Rodgers has proven to the Packers over time and that they believe he is going to be a strong NFL QB. It is now safe to say that while Aaron Rodgers had to wait on draft night, he is starting to come out on top compared to number 1 pick Alex Young.
