The Packers-Vikings battle at the dome was one of the most electric games a fan can ask for. Before the game Packers and Vikings fans mixed on the plaza outside of the dome with some confrontation but mostly peaceful interaction. The highlight of the pregame festivities being the Vikings featured dunk tank where contestants pay five dollars to dunk some poor employee in the opposing teams colors into the tank. The money goes to charity but some better be going to the brave blue guy who was dunked again and again in the frigid weather.
While it is common these days for fans to dress up in unique "costumes" Vikings fans seemed to step it up a notch for the Packers rivalry with multiple creative/scary outfits. The most scary were the Nordic pimp outfits and multiple women wearing purple boas and horns. Also be put on notice Zubas are back with a vengence at a stadium near you. Unfortunatly once entering the stadium the kegs ran dry before the game started and the concessions stands were unprepaired to tap new ones untill the game started (MN amatuers).
Inside the game of course the music was loud when the Packers were on offense, yes the fans were sort of loud as well. While it was a Viking home game with the border battle the Packers fans were just as loud after the Will Blackmon TD return.
With a game of limited fireworks on offense, the special teams and defenses provided plenty of electricity. While the Vikings two safeties showcased the Vikings defensive skills, the three interceptions of Green Bay were even more dramatic. Nothing however can top the ESPN play of the week - Will Blackmon's punt return for a touchdown, how he got free again at the thirty is incredible. In the end the Packers have now lost two consecutive games in the closing seconds. What is interesting is as a fan normally you would start to feel down about the team, however with there strong road showings against tough competition you have to be still feeling pretty good wearing the green and gold. Long live the Packers Vikings rivalry.
